Where to purchase oil temp gauge?

    Posplayr, Thanks for the tip. I will check valves and take a look around at the cams. Although I don't think they are off it will be good to double-check. My last bike was a 1980 Yamaha 850 and when I sold it w/ 34K miles, the valves were still within tolerance. Even though I red-line once in awhile, I am fairly good to an engine. But still - I will check. As for an oil pressure gauge - any suggestions? Is there a pressure / temp combo? As long as the sensors are 10mm, will they just screw into the oil filter plate that I am going to get from Gearhead? Thanks for the info! Later, Paul

      It would be an easy matter to drill and tap the oil galley plug on the RH side of the cylinder so this could be attached. Oil temp is much more useful to know about than oil pressure, since the Suzuki oil pump system is super reliable.

        Those actually screw into your oil filler plug, replacing the cover.

          First of all, oil pressure is way better than oil temperature, so don't get rid of your dummy light. Is your oil pressure switch under the ignition cover? If it is like mine then, although I don't know the size, it's a much bigger thread than the 1/8" probes you'll find for oil temperature gauges, and using adapters won't let it fit under the cover.

          My '85 has a thread under the carbs, a little behind the starter motor cover.

          Purchased mine from racer parts wholesale:

          It was one of the only places that had the cheaper autometer gauges with a black face.

          There's also summit racing. Just do a google search, you should be able to come up with quite a bit.

          Also, you're the first person to send a check in the mail after 1995. Did you know that?

            I hate looking in between my legs to see pressure/temp(rather watch the road) and at night they are useless.
            All my gauges are now lite and in the cockpit behind a 1/4 fairing.

            The 2 1/8" gauges are VDO (oil pressure and voltage); The ED has Oil temp stock on the right hand side of the clocks.
