Cam Damage - is it okay? *pictures*

I got some used G4 cams that are .355" lift. On the lobe there is a nice chip out of the hardened surface. It seems to go all the way out to where the pad of the rocker ends. (as in the small bit of hardened surface on the edge doesn't hit the rocker --- at least I don't think judging by the difference in color around the lobe.

Obviously this isn't ideal - but do you think that the cam is going to survive long? I'm using stock valve springs that are shimmed 0.060". Also - I have 750 oil pump gears so there should be a healthy supply of oil going to the cams. Here are pictures - what do you think?

    Thanks,
    Nick

Do you know where that flake that has come off gone?

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

hardfacing is compromised, cam is junk. will not survive at all. if anything more hardfacing will just come off and make a royal mess in your engine.

Be safe Nick, and change it out. Err on the safe side. A few bucks but.. MUCH cheaper than a new engine. Be safe . Good luck.
