    GS1100 Damping & Anti Dive

Does anyone have a section view of the units on these forks? Trying to get a better understanding of how each system works & whether there is any interaction between the two on these forks (I suspect not).

What I think happens is that a plunger is activated by the brake pressure & that blocks one (or maybe both) of the oil ports which somehow increase compression damping considerably.

Anyone want to go into detail on these with me.... (eventually I'll pull a set apart & find out for myself... )

If you have access to an '82-'83 1100E Suzuki manual, there is a page that explains it, along with a cut-away view of the fork's internals, IIRC. Someone with a scanner might be able to do the needful.

There is a copy of the manual on BassCliff's repository. Start reading around page 14-19.

Hmm done that, not so clear picture but....

It appears that a piston on the brake circuit pushes a piston on the hydraulic circuit to close off the top hole only leaving the bottom hole open to be reactive to any "spike" from hitting a big bump & releasing the "blow off" valve (i.e. letting the piston open again against the spring).

Anyone got a picture of one in a million pieces to look at??
