    Supertrap Question

Ok I just got my supertrap disc pack (12 difuzzers) screws and end cap (That I really dont like and soon going to change) and also a Front/Rear set of brake pads.

Question: is how many plates including the end cap should I install ? How many other GS700/750 E/ES have the same pipe combo and what did you use. I know they are tunable... My bike is stock ecept a 4 into 1 with the supertrap, stock airbox, up 1or 2 sizes on the jets ..I forgot exactly. 140's i think

One of my rear brake pads has been seprated from the backing plate for ?? how long but still has been working. (not safe) anyway I plan on doing all of them soon just to feel better.

Hey any wrenching party soon to be comming?

With the 'Trapp, I figured if you didnt have AT LEAST 7-9 discs in the thing, it was as if not more restrictive than the stock exhaust system... I had 18 in mine on my ES when I was running that pipe.. I will warn you though, at least on my bike, I could NEVER EVER EVER get it to stop popping on decel.. When I switched to the Yosh thats on it now that Greg has it, I dialed that baby in pretty spot on. Narry a pop out of it unless you wound its brains out and chopped the throttle.. Dunno if it was a "can" thing, or the midpipe size (had a 3 inch OD midpipe on mine) but I could never get the damn thing dialed in. And the droaning sound of it on long trips got on my nerves after a bit.. Sounded like a hive of really ****ed off hornets when you got on her, but just cruising it sounded whiney and weak...

Depeneds on your definition of loud.Had 8 in mine, that was a bit loud for me.I commute to work a 7am so have to be kind of stealthy.5 was to choked off,6 is better but I think I'm going to try 7.Stock airbox, went to 120 mains but the other jets seen to be richer than what the 83 Suzuki manual I downloaded from BassCliff says.Canadian spec 85 750 EF different again?

I think I'll try 8 for now (When it's not snowing) and see how that works, my bike has always poped on decel....I kinda like it ....

If you're happy with the way it runs & sounds now (sans discs & cap) I wouldn't be surprised if you end up using all 12, or more discs. I could not get mine to flow as free as my other (Wolf) pipe, and the bike (1100E) felt sluggish and less responsive, esp. at higher rpm, even with 12 discs (K&N pods, 36mm Mikuni carbs). One of the 'gurus' on the 'Trapp forum advised 20 discs () to mimic the flow of even a street system like V&H, Kerker etc., or 10 discs + an open end cap. Open, competition end caps are available at Summit Racing (they actually have all Supertrapp parts like end caps, discs etc. for these systems on hand, which is nice), but I did not buy one as it had 'Not For Street Use' clearly embossed on it, which could possibly fetch a ticket these days......besides, I'd already bought a nice, brand new cap with 'Trapp logo. I ended up boring a hole through the end cap , and in conjunction with 12 discs, the bike runs acceptably. This set-up looks like a stock Supertrapp at first glance & though the exhaust note now definitely has more bark, it isn't any louder than most other 4X1 pipes.

I have always liked the sound of the my pipe/supertrapp even with out the disc's. I just put in 8 last night and actually got her to start right up I can't go ride it for obvious SNOW reasons but I can listen to what it sounds like. It could have been me and the temp being like 15deg and the bike not warmed up yet. But it did feel a little sluggish on the throttle.

I would like to do the same thing you did with the end cap but just add a small spit tube angled just a tad.... I think I saw one on e-bay but it said it fit slightly pipe ?? different cap or something i'll have to look again.

I am going to go put the other 4 disc's in and try it again. I found 1 stripped out (missing) hole for the allen.

The difference would be more obvious whilst riding (I was actually surprised at how much difference just a pipe change made)...with too few discs, the bike will be increasingly reluctant, as revs rise. You might have none of these issues, since you have retained the stock air box, carbs etc.....may not be much difference, except in sound level & the addition of the trademark Supertrapp slight hiss at idle.

The end cap with the downward tipped tube is likely meant for a newer 'Trapp design, marketed for sport bikes. I'm not sure the look would flow well (visually) if you graft the tip on to one of these older styled cans.....better to use an entire late-model style can with your mid-pipe, if that's the look you're after, IMHO. I'm not sure, but IIRC, the spacing etc. on your bike lends itself well to using an entire later model system (GSXR)...Billy Ricks had done this & might be able to give some input, if you go that route.

                  Super Trapp difuzzer test

Well I took my bike for a pretty good ride today to see how it reacts with the (12) defuzzers and end cap. I believe She runs a little better than last year and then again It could be that letting her out today is just her way of thanking me! Yeah Yeah now I'm talking to my bike, like we all haven't done it.
I did notice a fairly big difference when rolling on the throttle, it seems to be alittle smoother but if you hit it hard it does pull hard up untill red line.

I also changed the rear break pads that took a whole 5min and thats only because I get off my butt and go find the new pads. LOL
Here is a picture of my old ones, You think they were bad?

What a difference the new rear pads made. I even had some old MEAN lady come yelling outside the rear bingo (EMPTY) parking lot stop driving like this is a race track.... When all I was doing was 20-25mph brake checks.... anyway lets just say they work.

And this was my GS ride for the day.
