I was just under the bike last night, and I thought I should try to take some pictures, which of course are worth a thousand words of explanation! I'll try to get to that asap.

I did a crazy thing, though. I ordered NEW center pipes from Suzuki. They were expensive, but available. I hope I haven't thrown my money away, I just thought by the time I straightened and re-chromed the old ones, I'd be into them for the same amount.

Have you had any experience in re-chroming pipes? Has anyone out there?

Here is a shot of my butchery of the back end of the collector. You can see what I mean (I hope) of how I cut it into a "C" shape, and how the end of the silencer fits down to the end of the stub pipe. That clamp just barely fits in there! I'll probably end up cutting some more away. Cheers, everyone
