    2v 750 - 2 mods worth doing

Just got my bike back from an extended stay at the shop. While it was there , I had tapered steering head bearings & stainless steel brake lines installed. 8O Wow what a difference! Handling & stability are much better & The brakes feel great - less effort & improved performance & feel. Definitely worth the cost.

It's simple. There's a kit available that includes bearings & races that fit in place of the stock parts. It's cheap - around $50. The larger (850cc & up) bikes have tapered roller bearings as original equipment. I'm pretty sure any GS after 1980 has 'em too.

I put taper bearings in my old GT750K..big difference! The GS1000 had tapers from the beginning (78 on)..I own one!
