Katman, I think I would need to start with the frame number from your Kat. I think I can find out the original motor number from there. The motor number you posted, is that from the junk motor you got back, or? I can see if that number will get me anything. I'll check into the year ID for the numbers too (12xxxx, etc.)

since I have some time on my hands, I have been doing a littile work on my 711.
a buddy may buy it for 1,550.00 usd. He hasn't decided yet. A little under priced maybe? It needs some cosmetic work and paint. Motor is good, so is the rubber and a new header. It also has a chrome valve cover.
Needs some TLC. I looked so long for my first one I hate to sell it. Keeps my mind off my other bike.

Thanks Ger,
It is an 82 and the motor I had coated black. The guy who had it before me bought new cosmetics of the 83 flavour. I like the color better than the plain grey. It is tooooo much grey. I changed the front pegs to 83 too. Not to cheat but for looks.....I am looking for an 83 frame in the mean time to build.
On the other hand if you get enough black on the bike like on by 711 above the grey looks nice. It has a red stripe but would look nice plain grey I think.
