I always prefered to be the guy with the jump. I foud that the pressure on the guy with the faster bike watching you drive away at the tree would force them to push the tree and redlight, or break out of their bracket and get disqualified. A friend of mine runs a 8 second kawasaki and I faced him twice he spoted me two seconds and I was 100ft out before he left I used the spray and ran similar mph down the far end and both times he broke out and lost. on the other hand my friend with the stock gs 850 beat me twice he ran right on his dial once and only off 1 tenth and I broke out chasing him both times. sure can be fun huh

Sounds like a nice place to run. I used to run at a real small track in northern Michigan that was like this. I never took my drag bike there as most of the people were just running street bikes. A lot of them did not even have a pipe.

Funny that there are actually Pro-Stock bikes there. I wondered where all of them went to.

Were you able to find the air shifter I was telling you about?

I did find their web site but did'nt see any C02 shifters.
        I did find a $140 shifter at http://www.mrspeedperformance.com/el...verair2003.htm
and was thinking of buying it.

Here's our drag strip at http://www.abilenedragstrip.com/

Like a lot of companies they don't put a lot of their race stuff out there.
I put a picture from their catalog on the web for you to look at:

It's in the "my photo" section. Just blow it up a few times by clicking on it.

Not sure about the cost. The kit your looking at should be fine. Would be interested in seeing how you get it mounted in. Seems like I always have to fab. custom parts.

Did check out your local track. Very nice from the pictures. A lot of good looking bikes. Could not find any of your bike in there. You need to get them to work on that. I like the one HD with all the body work. Looks like you have a local guy to beat. We have a few of those around here.

I email OER and they don't carry that type of shifter anymore.

            Thanks any how

I run the dale walker holshot shifter and never missed a gear.............even under nitrous stock tranny too, nothing is undercut or any thing. They are a little slower because you use your foot to make the shift but they are smooth and error free.

Sorry to waste your time. It seemed like a good idea. Maybe not enough energy in that small cylinder to make it work. Or just the pain of using all those cylinders?

I like the ideal of a self contain system. I know I shot alot of birds, cats and one old lady in the butt when i was a kid with a Co2 B-B gun. So it should work just find as a shifter.

Agree, it seemed like a good idea. I have not seen any other ones made like this but see no reason why you could not make one. I would stick with the kit your looking at and be done with it myself. Will your track allow you to have the tank mounted external, or does it have to be inside the frame? Do you even have enough room in the stock setup now with the MSD box in there to fit a small tank?

There is not much room right above the battery but on the right hand side of the battery the long slim Co2 bottle might just fit.

R+D Motorsports in florida is the best place to have a tranny done. If you get it backcut then you can put in the air shifter. It should improve your ET. check with http://www.pingelonline.com/ for dragracing parts.
