      Thx Katman
I don't like to be like anyone else. It's gotta be original.
Even if it's just in a small way.

I'll most likely be doing the paint and other cosmetic works over the winter again now.

For anyone reading that doesn't know what he is refering to you can see it in this thread:

My engine builder is back from vacation and work continues.
530 conversion chain and sprockets are on order. Head is
being ported and polished. We need to fix the glass beader
so we can do that before assembly.

I will get pics just as soon as there is something to take a picture of!

Boy Hoomie, will it ever end? I keep seeing this post pop up from time to time "1978 winter rebuild..." 1978 was a LOT of winters ago -- are you ever going to finish it??

Just kidding buddy! Looking forward to updates as the beast rises to splendor!

Yeah yeah yeah, good things come to those that wait! Even those who have no choice in the matter

The engine is progessing. I am being told that if time permits (meaning if all jobs go well with no unexpected delays or problems arise) the engine will be ready for pickup by end of week.

My bike is still sitting exactly like this as I type this:

I need motivation and time. I am having trouble right now finding either

Send her to me Mark. I'll slap her together for ya!
While my engine was gone for 5 months, I broke my bike down and gave attention to every single piece. Literally every part on my bike was inspected, refurbished or replaced. It kept me busy the entire time.
I'm actually glad the engine took so long because it gave me time to focus on the entire bike.
While you're waiting, I'm sure there are a lot of things you could do to make the final results better. I only mention this because you sound frustrated by the whole thing.
If the bike is a keeper, the final results is what you'll be living with for many years. Now is the time to give attention to every detail. Not every part requires a lot of money either. A lot of things just require time and elbow grease. Just refurbishing the wiring harness and every single electrical piece and part will keep you busy a long time but costs little.
I know you want to get her together quick, but I advise you to just take time to do everything right. When the time comes, it will come soon enough my friend.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Despite advice telling us not to buy one, we bought a bi-level Rob. They have no basement and no attic. So our garage is everything! And it is full of junk! There is nothing left we can throw out. I need a barn or a new house!

Thx Keith. That's pretty much what I have already done. It's all done. What you see in the pic is a re assembly of the bike after being completely torn down. Every last nut and bolt was wire wheeled and polished and everything painted. All that is left is to paint the tank, fairing and side covers. And to polish my V&H. I need the engine. Been waiting for it with this much done since March.

For what good it does...you're not alone.

I appreciate that. It's going to happen. I just wanted it done this year. I was hoping to spend this winter working on my Turbo project. Not this one still too.

But hey, it's all fun Just wish I had more room.
