Fair enough. John and you both asked now so here they are

I wasn't posting any yet because there really isn't much to see unless you
have done one from frame up before and know what to look for. I guess
the best way is to compare.

Here is a shot of it from a year ago. As of early
last week it still looked exactly like this:

Now as of tonight it looks like this:

That's all for now. But I am working on it. I guess I am a bit slow

Hey, its looking like a bike. Where is that engine???

I finally am starting to work on mine. I had all the parts in hand, picked up the wheels today. Cut the chain and started to put it all back together. I just started to put the new chain on and realized that they had shipped me 520 sprockets and 530 chain. The teeth and links are correct. JT, who makes the sprockets, shows the 520 being used on the 750. They sure are baby small compared to the 530. So, the whole thing has to come back apart. Will be interesting to see if I get some free 750 sprockets out of this.

If your needing chain, I am changing to EK. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

I was surprized by the little amount of wear on the front sprocket. On the GS with the 630 chain, I have pulled the teeth way apart. These look in great condition by comparison.

I am going with the 630 stock chain and sprockets now lecroy.
I wont be doing the conversion. I just see no need. I have the new
          sprockets and chain in already.

Tonight I got the wiring harness sorted and the tail piece and tail light on.
I also got all the signal lamps in and the lenses on.

The tail piece, tail lense and blinker lenses are all brand new OEM NOS
parts I aquired a while ago for this project along with some other goodies
including the new NOS seat. None of them have been out of the box
before. It feels good to put some new parts on it

I also cleaned all the engine mount hardware and put all the mount
brackets back on. I should have it close to wrapped up by Wednesday
          night.

I scheduled with Joe today to take this in then Thursday morning so we
can put the engine in. I traded my Good Friday for the day off. I sure
hope he doesn't blow me off until next week again

Wow man, most definitely a great project.
This will be the newest looking bike on this site!

And when I looked at your pictures I noticed that you like to play some music too while working on the bike.

I assume your referring to my Kicker comp cabinet? The whole mid and top end is Rockford Fosgate Punch series. That old rig was custom made by me to fit into the back of my Cherokee back in '93. I should have sold it while it was still worth something as I will most likely never use it again. But I couldn?t bring myself to get rid of it. I put so much work into the cabinet design alone. Now it just sits there and gathers dust. I still have the amps and crossovers, cables and everything. Heck I still have the head unit!

I do enjoy listening to music while I work though. But that is just off the boom box

              Thx for the compliments man

I've used RK chains many times and have been very happy with them. Got one on there now and it's great. It's a 530 as well.

Thx for the good words guys. I had a bit of a let down tonight. I had bought an NOS seat for this project last year. The guy assured me it was for my bike but it is for a 70's GS750E and doesn't fit my bike

When I tried to put it on tonight that was the first I found out. Oh well. Something will come up :?

Here is the seat, pretty nice and completely worthless to this project!

I have to admit Mark, when I saw that you won that seat, it didn't look right to me. The chrome strip on the bottom isn't 1000 related.
I didn't want to be negative after you won it and I hoped it would still mount up for you.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Never be afraid to speak my GS brother, let me know! I am a jack of many trades and have been riding motorcycles my entire life but actually working on them is a new venture. I like to glean all the wisdom I can from guys like yourself who have been through it.

Well, next time I will speak up even if I'm wrong.
I forget who the seller was, but I'd remember who it was if you said the name. I believe I've bought NOS stuff from that same seller. I think they MAY take back the seat if you pay shipping back. Worth a try anyway.

Not this one Keith I don't believe. I bought three seats last year for this project and none of them have panned out

The first new OEM or NOS one was from a guy out west some state? Forget where? That one ended up not even being a Suzi seat. I sold it local. Lost like 20 bucks.

The next one (this one) I bought off a guy in Canada who was just some Joe on ebay like me selling a seat. He most likely bought it thinking it was for something else and when it didn't fit thought it was for a 1000. Or he lied. Either way I bought it and got burned.

The third seat I still have. It is a used one in no better shape than my original one and I only bought it to get the Grab rail off of it. That guy was a parts dealer and a regular on eBay.

I am not sure which one you may be remembering but none of them panned out
