Thanks for the heads up Sandy. I need to verify some things with him. Don't want to buy another "wrong" seat

Mark,
You've got an S style fairing.
You've got a hypo motor.
You've got wire wheels, like the Euro and Aussie models.......
Now you need blue and white paint
Good luck with the seat, I saw it earlier this morning and thought about it.
Instead I'm looking for a wiring loom for the S.
Found a 140 mph for the EKeith

I bought this exact same seat from this seller several months ago. At least he's saying the seat has small tears now. The price went through the roof but I won it for $341. Don't ask how I let myself go that high. I wanted both an "E" seat like on my bike and this seat that comes on the base model.
I asked questions as I always do and he replied that the seat was in "awesome" condition. When the seat came, it took me a few moments to notice the two small tears at the bottom front. They're right at the bend and are "mostly" out of sight when the seat's on. They're about a 1/2" long each. However, I believe the tears will grow with time. That's why I sent it back. I think someone either pulled on the cover too hard or dropped the seat straight down and the metal edge pushed through the cover. You can see a little of the foam because the slit/tears aren't completely closed. The other problem with it is the sewed edging or whatever you want to call it, has been folded in such a way that the fiberglass trim that goes on the base will not snap down over the pins that hold it on. You could probably get around that problem but you'd have to cut the edging and re-mount it. The trim simply won't go on correctly.
With my wife and neighbors help, we noticed the seat he showed in the pic' was not the seat he sent me. There were different spot weld marks ,etc. (I asked for detailed pic's of the bottom.) It was obvious, but he kept saying I was mistaken. I continued to try to prove him wrong and he decided to give me back my money. It turns out he had 2 NOS seats and I got the "other" one. I even got him to pay back the return shipping.
Actually, he's been a fair guy and I've bought several things from him. Maybe that's why he refunded me?? I just didn't like the idea of him showing one thing and selling the other. He does this with other NOS parts too.
Personally, I believe the tears will get larger over time. Plus there's that trim/edging problem. The "SUZUKI" logo on the back is a bit crooked from the way the cover was stretched on too. For the price I paid, I had to have perfect which is what I asked him before I bid. Yes, it will fit your bike though. And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Just want to add Mark. I just looked again at the seat pic's. I know this is the same seat I bought earlier. Interesting thing though, I can see the edging on the bottom is tucked in better now. The edging was further out before and the trim wouldn't snap over the mounting pins correctly. Either he's showing a picture of a different seat again, or someone's made some changes. I have to believe the seat you would get will not be the one in this photo. The sewn edging is quite different in the way it's attached to the pan. Just letting you know all I know. And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!

Keith, it's the same seat buddy. Thanks for the heads up. He even mentions the two little tears you?re talking about and the price that was paid so this is your seat man. I really appreciate you telling me. I have pulled my bid from the auctionstealer and it is fair game for anyone that wants it. I looked at the photos long and hard after you said this and I brightened them up really good and I can see everything you mention. Including the fact that the cover is twisted. No thank you, I will spend my money getting one of my seats redone. I already have two original seats for it. I just need to rebuild one.
Thank you my friend.

No problem Mark. The seat may be NOS, but it does have those issues.
It's certainly not worth anywhere near what bidders bid the first time it was up. It is worth something though. Considering the new pan and foam. Many people less picky than me would mount it anyway and take their chances with the tears and any trim mounting problems.
If the price was low enough, I might even think it could be worth it with a new cover installed. I think I've seen some sites that claim to make perfect factory replica seat covers for under $100 including shipping. If the seat sold for around a $100, the total price would be worth it then. And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!

Wrench, buddy, your pool is lost I am afraid. But for good cause!
We called the guy katman recommended last night and once Joe got on the phone with him it was worse than watching two women sitting around the table with a Macy?s catalog and a cup of tea. They talked for over half an hour and blab blab blab trading secrets. Seems this guy really knows his stuff and seemed like a really nice guy for the 30 seconds I got to talk to him. Now Joe is all fired up to finish this engine of mine. Finally.
We got all the info we needed to use the cams I have and how to setup the smoothies to work with what we have. We also were told by this guy to not use the stock valves as this setup can separate them. So now we have to order valves and that is the set back on the date (sorry John).
I won?t give numbers just yet but this guy gave us potential numbers for this setup if tuned right that were a lot higher than I expected. He currently owns one that is putting out numbers that sound more like that of a drag bike.
I am prancing about with anticipation to just getter done!
