There actually has been some activity but not enough to make it worth while to post so I was letting this sleep. I felt it was starting to annoy me and everyone with it's yo yo affect.
Once I have something solid to report I will post it. No worries
I can tell you that it is still in the making. And supposedly my valves are being made :?

Well it isn?t much, but it is some form of progress so I though I would post it.
The paper work needed to get the valves ordered and made has been processed and that means that maybe, just maybe, I might actually have valves in a few weeks?
There is for sure no way this bike is making it to the southern rally so no worries there anymore.
I also have acquired the needed fork legs to rebuild my forks with so I can go to dual disks in the front.
One step at a time. Isn?t that the way this project has been going anyway?
Just wanted to let those who have been following this know that it is still underway. Even if it is at a very slow pace.

Well, don't hurry up too much. I still haven't even ordered the gasket set I need...and it is getting cold outside (-5c lately at night). I may have to get a move on if you are making progress

Can it be? I got a call today. My shiney new stainless steel valves are at the shop
I go out tomorrow night to see what is up and regroup on this.
saaz, did Bruce take you up on that pilot needle offer you made in his tech thread? If not I would like them if you are willing to sell them to me? I need them to rebuild the carbs I am working on right now for my Blue 78.
Rock on!

Mark, I haven't heard anything so let me know by PM what you want. All the jets and pilot air screws are ok bar one air screw that has a bent tip. At least they were ok back in the early 80s when last they were used!!

Well my Orient Express stainless steel valves are in. The head goes out Monday for some welding and to have the seats cut. Engine project is back on board
Whoever it was that recommended Orient Express, thank you.

I shipped a GS head down to your island last year and it was choose between mildly expensive/very long ship time or extremely expensive/normal ship time.
The experience was not one that I enjoyed but I was asked to do it by a forum friend and therefore didn't mind helping. Shipping stuff should be easier.
As for my engine project here. The work to be done was already paid for too so there should be no further demons to pop up and stop this anymore. Let's hope it just gets done now. She is going to be wearing her old cloths for now when I get this engine done but finishing this step is the worst of it and then the entire project moves back into my realm of control so my next mod or appearance thread for this bike shouldn't go out two years long  That was just ridiculous. I will be glad to see this come to an end. The joy was robbed out of it a long time ago
But it's still Rock on!

This Means I really need to keep moving on Old Red.
(sort of hoping the guy calls to have me pick up the frame after blasting today, but I'm doubting it and if not it's ok, as I have enough to keep me busy on saturday)
Amos

Well progress continues to be made albeit slow. I am still being promised that this bike will run this year yet
Here is the latest.
Valve seats cut for the new SS valves:
It ain't much, but it makes it so that all that is left is assembly I think?
I have honestly lost track
