    pingel taps

for months my Gs1085s has been very ill.
this morning start it up with petrol cap on it pops bangs run like poo.
so i removed petrol cap when engine was running after a few secs the engine runs sweatly
    we have full power again.
so next thing i did put a spare petrol hose on pingel tap ran it straight into a jug the flow differance is I say a 3rd more, with cap removed.
new fuel cap about to be orded, just wondering if you can order a extra tanker breather might help.

You can take your current filler cap to bits and give it a clean. If it's original it's 100 times better quality than the after market junk you'll end up getting (unless you're very lucky - a proper one is £75 from Robinsons and a copy is £15).
    79 GS1000S
    79 GS1000S (another one)
    80 GSX750
    80 GS550
    80 CB650 cafe racer
75 PC50 - the one with OHV and pedals...
75 TS100 - being ridden (suicidally) by my father

yeah strip it and clean it, no need to buy a new one. no need for an extra breather

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

soak it overnight in parrafin or similar. easy enough to make a new seal, far cheaper than buying a new cap
