    Throttle Wide Open

I have a 1981 suzuki 1000 gs. When I crank it up the throttle automatically goes wide open. Does anyone know why it does this. It stays wide open all the time.

I would check your throttle cable and carbs. something is sticking. I had this problem on my gs400. the throttle cables were the culprit.

clean and lube the twist grip and pressure lube inside of both cables. Afterwhich you should verify that the routing is correct and adjust in the right amount of free play.

1mm~3mm at the twist grip it should snap back freely

I have seen twisted cable ends hanging up inside the twist grip housing and that is when you should get new cables.

unless your hand on the throttle is why it is stuck at W.O.T. automaticly
SUZUKI , There is no substitute
