You also need to know the valve length and where the keepers sit on the valves. I had my GPz head done by a fellow in Alexandria Ohio called Pearson Racing. I had my head milled somewhere else, but he went through the head completely doing a valve job. Some of the things he did were make custom valves from SS blanks, checked all the valve guides, fitted with my cams and pre-shimmed, checked for Wiseco piston clearance, etc. Pretty much everything but a porting job. Sure it was expensive. But it screams, is 100 pounds lighter than my 1100E, and is a blast to ride. In fact, I enjoy riding it more than the GS.
Different strokes for different folks.Last edited by Guest; 10-04-2011, 07:33 AM.
