Found More Parts, Might be closer to the 5's
Bought a few more parts off of StripBike.com for the old gal like G4 cams and some 38mm 750 carbs for my 1166 13-1 1100E. I was hoping to break into the 6's this year but I thinking I might be closer to the 5's in the 1/8.

Yeah I know but there is something about a stock looking bike without bars running in the 5's. We had a stock GSXR in the 5's with alittle nitrous doing a wheelie with the rider legg's hanging out through the 1/8 mile. It was one heck of a sight.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

I like the 1/8 mile. Within 6 months I made over 250 runs with no breakage and I still using my stock clutch plates. I think there is less wear and tear on the 1/8.
Abilene built their 1/8 track last year. There's was alot of talk over the past 5 years to built a 1/4 mile track but I guess where lucky they built something. The closes 1/4 track was is San Angelo about 90 mile southwest of Abilene. But I heard they may shut down to do nobody driving down there from here anymore. So that just leaves Dallas/Fort Worth tracks about a 3 hour drive to the east.
I would guess that my bike would run a 11.11 in the 1/4 last year. But this year i'm wanting to run in the 6's with a 1166 and next year I'll upgrade to a 1260 and try for the 5's.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

1/8th mile tracks
Out here in Southern California, 1/8 mile tracks are about all we have available, being real estate is so expensive. Not dying out here for sure. We have a new track built by the Barona Indian Tribe just 6 months ago and it is really nice.
I was racing my vtr1000 (7.55 @97 no wheelie bars), but just picked up a 77 GS750 to start using at the track. See it at members.cox.net/vtr1000
I am curious as to what would be the best rev limiter to use, any ideas?

I wish I had a video too, this guy almost ate some concret.
We had one guy show up with a Suzuki 1300 Falcon running only 6.40 in the 1/8. I heard he went to 1/4 track in Fort Worth and sprayed some NOS and got the bike sideways at over 100 mph half way down the track. He broke a few bones and trashed that new Falcon, what a shame. Most Hayabusa's I've seen at the track run 6.5's with a good rider. Anything faster will have wheelie bars and or lengthened swing arm.

Oh, and not to be a jerk, but you are a looooonnnng way from the fives.
To go from 8's to 7's is not hard. To go from 7's to 6's is a little more difficult, and to go from 6's to 5's requires about ten times more than to go from sevens to sixes.
Not that I wouldn't like to see it, but in my experience, predictions like that are usually way off, even by myself. IE: I was driving a dragster for someone, it ran 5.20s at 136-137 mph. His son blew the engine, I took it out, took it apart, and was amazed it ran at all, let alone 5.20s. The #7 cylinder had .021" clearance between the piston and cylinder! It was 482 CI, and the heads were completely shot, also.... I built a 540CI with new everything but the intake, which was too small.
I figured that the car should be able to run high 4.90's, but I told the guy 5.0's just in case it didn't. I mean 50 more cubes and a fresh engine?? No problem right?? The car ran 5.07 @ 142......

Like I said I'll be in the 6's in 2004 and in the 5's in 2005. By then I'll be running a 1260 with a slider and a big tire frame with bars. If that does'nt get me there I'll add 75hp of Nitrous. Who's know maybe I'll even run two bikes and build 200CI Sportster that will run in the 4's come 2006.

I got a line on a 1260 block and pistons for the old gal and was thinking I should go ahead and pull the 1166 combo out and install the 1260 combo instead???. I think I need a race crank and race basket now.
