Finished 2nd last night at Barona. Ran 7.9's consistantly. Lost final race by.048 seconds.

The GS750 is super reliable and I am having so much fun!

Phil are you showing off again. I may just have to come out there and we can settle this 2nd place finish thing. Good job on 2'nd place that's no easy task. 8) How much were you off your dial in time and 60 ft time. Once you run bars I've found out the race is won or lost with bad RT or 60 footer.

I forgot to add a red light can make a differance too. 8O

Looking at the slip again, I lost by .015 seconds.
I dialed a 7.85 and ran a 7.89 and had a .557 reaction time (on a .400 pro tree). I had a 1.72 60 ft time and my mph was 85.502.

The winner dialed a 6.72 and ran a 6.857, but cut a .450 reation time and had a 60 foot of 1.689. His mph was 92.374, which means to me that he shut down. This guy is good and also famous for sandbagging when coming up against slower bikes. He is in 1st place in point standings.

Next race: June 17th. At least I am in 2nd place in point standings so far and hanging in there.

On a side note: There are 8 bikes in this series, 4 of them are Harleys with wheelie bars. The first round of races, we put them all away. (2 of them run nirtous and run in the 6's.)

You actually had the better run down the track with your dial in, but he got the win with a better reaction time. That 1/10 of a second at the start paided off at the end of the track.

Sounds like it was a close race. Keep it up and he'll start to worry about you.

I am now in the points lead for the Summit Series at Barona.

Finally won!

Oh, it does pay to run close to your dial in. I ran a 7.87 on a 7.85 and got the next Bye run as a result.

Thanks for the encouragement Jake! Hope you get your bike back together soon!

BTW, I am flying to Houston in July, but only for 3 days. Can't handle the Texas heat and humidity.

It's called the Summit Series and we do get a percentage of the entry fees. So far this year:

3rd place $15
2nd place $30
2nd place $100--->not a Summit Series Race, but a special Bracket Race
2nd place $40
1st place $80

So it varies for race to race, but I'm in the Summit for the points, which could take me to the divisional finals and if you win there, you get to go to the World finals where the bike class pays $5000

I just found out the divisional race win pays $3500.

I don't normally count my chickens before they hatch, but if I win divisional AND go on to win the World Finals, I would first give God my tithe, and then I would find a "real" dragbike, like a GS1000/1100 and see if I could keep it simple too, but with an airshifter.

An air shifter, that's not asking to much. Just go get one now and tell everyone it's an early Xmas present for your bike.

Yeah, but I am still a bit confused. Do I get a electric over air or all air? And if I get an all air, what kills the engine momentarily for the shift? I do have a rev limiter that has one wire available for a kill button.

I'd get the electric over air, easy'er to hookup. You just use a relay to kill the ignition. I have the same thing on my bike an it works great, my relay grounds the air kill on my MSD. Then pickup a 12VDC air compressor that's rated for 300psi for 20 bucks for your car and you can fill it up at the track.
