Forced induction with compressor

Does anyone know someone who done this? To force induce a gs1000 engine with a compressor?
Erik Marklund from MCXpress, http://www.mc-xpress.com/ did it with a gsx 1100. But he used a turbocharger. So should int not be possilble with a compressor instead of a turbo? What are your thoughts on the subject?

There are used kits that used to be available new back in the 80's that show up on Ebay from time to time.

really? I did not know that. Turbocharging kits I know exist, but I never heard of a shaft driven compressorkit. I was thinking of go scavage hunting for som old carcompresor and do a impersonation the mad professor in "Back to the future"... Only without the Delorian.
