    gs1000 more cam timing problems

I am attempting to fit slotted sprockets to a 1981 gs1000 et, (european model, last one made). This is the last performance mod I can do without NOX. Name it, I have done it, open cheque book (sort of) for six years.
I have found the cam lobe centres : inlet 115 and exhaust 102.5. Useful eh?
So I rechecked several issues. The dwell on inlet = 270; exhaust = 295.
I checked the suzuki manual and stock dwell should be 276 in & 272 ex.
Has anyone else found this variation? Have I got a freak exhaust cam? These are definately factory fitted parts. Has GS resources got a definitive cam timing page, please lead me to it so I can recheck everything again!
The Cope racing formula I used is : using TDC subtract opening number from closing number, divide difference by two, add result to 90. For exhaust subtract the closing number from the opening number and follow the same formula.
    please help!!! :?

When I checked my gs1100 it was like 104 and 112. I was shocked. I put on the slotted sprockets and re-set them both for racing at 110. My understanding is there can be huge variation in the stock settings. To make sure you did it correctly just do it twice in a row. You should duplicate the first result. First time I did it on my old kaw I spent all day screwing around with it. Then suddenly it just seemed to make sense. Cope is the man, but I used a video from holeshot to figure it out http://www.holeshot.com/.
