    Help with fork spring spacers

Hello there wonderful, benevolent, and all knowing Suzuki gods! I'm installing progressive springs today and have found mine to be significantly lacking in the spacer area. I got the 11-1106 springs in the mail and they are 19.1" long and said foolishly that I needed no spacer to be inserted. So here I am with no spacer material(easily obtainable) and no instructions on how to properly calculate my pre-load. Is there anybody out there with some pointers to get me on track? Thanks folks......oh I'm 175lbs and its a 79' GS1000L if that helps.

Track down some 3/4" PVC pipe to make your own spacers. From there, follow the instructions found on Basscliff's site to check the sag.

Yeah, I don't know that there's a really good calculation out there more than trial and error. Let's see, 11-1106 is 35/50 lb/in., call it 70lb/in for the pair. 1.5" is probably a good start for pre-load, then aim for 1.5-2" sag. Of course it's going to be easier to make a PVC pipe spacer shorter than to make it longer (though you can always add some washers).

kinda what I figured just wanted to check and see if there was some special secret i was unaware of before I started the process...Many times I've worked all day to do a job I learned later could have taken 30min had I known the correct way. Thanks for the size info and I've read his sag instructions a few times so I should get it right. Thanks yall
