My other option is a 100 F & 150 R AM26 Roadrider set. I have used Roadriders a lot & like them... Just fancy trying the radials for the sake of a change & to see what difference they make I guess...

Avon Azuro ST's V Roadriders
I have rims big enough (Just...) to try this Radial set from Avon. Anyone have any experience of it? Everything I've found on them on the web sounds good...

I had the same dilemma when I had a VX800 -- you could get either radials or bias ply tires in the correct sizes.
After wearing out the craptastic set of Battlax BT20s that came with the bike, I mounted up a set of Avon Storm radials and absolutely loved them. However, they wore out far too quickly for my tastes (YMMV, of course). I later mounted up a set of bias ply RoadRiders.
For handling and feel, the radials have a clear advantage -- they're significantly lighter and more flexible than comparable bias ply tires. Compare the shipping weights ( http://tiresunlimited usually lists shipping weights ), and you'll note that the radials often save 1 to 3 pounds each of rotating mass -- that's definitely a difference you can feel.
Tire life is more dependent on other factors than construction -- I know that Avon's Storm II, for example, was much improved in this respect based on feedback from the Storm.
If I were in your place, I'd definitely try the radials.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

There was the extra twist of the wrist that I was looking for then... trying to justify spending the few extra bucks.
Coming from yourself who is a big fan of the Roadriders.. plus you've not steered me wrong on a tyre choice yet!
I am on the smallest of the Avon recommended width for these tyres but I'm sure they will still work out great1980 GS1000G - Sold
