What you may get into is the tire slipping on the wheel. The rim lock portion on aftermarket wheels like kosman are designed to really grip the bead. A suzuki factory wheel is not designed for the low pressures of a slick. A lot will depend on how much traction and HP you have.

Drill the rim & fit self tapping screws if you have any doubt. The screws will stop the tyre turning on the rim.
It's standard practice when running tyres at low pressures. The scews only need to penetrate the tyre by about 1/8"

is your slick round in shape from sidewall to sidewall or is it supposed to be semi flat like a cars?

I'm going with a flat slick for 1/8 mile drag racing. A friend of mine recommends a 7 inch slick and I'm trying to find out what will work without spending to much money.

I'm a budget racer or just plain cheap to say the least.

              7 inch slick

I use a mickey thompson on a 5.5"/17 rim with pressure @ 10 lbs with no problems. These tires cost about $150.-,and the traction is excellent.

                Thanks Guys

I going to find a GSXR 5,5 rim and mount a M/T on it. From what I hear the axle is the same size.

Even if the axle isn't the same size the outer diameter on the bearings will be. If the id is different just knock out the bearings and use yours.

I found a GSXR swingarm and the guy said it was 2-4 inches longer than a stock GS one, so much the better. Now I'm just waiting to find a 5.5 rim then I'll order a M/T 7 inch slick and it's back to the track.

What is the part number for your M/T?

I was thinking of ordering M/T 3221 from their web site and mounting it on a 17x5.5 rim.
