    If you want to reduce weight, reduce UNSPRUNG weight. That's basically the wheels, chain, and swingarm. That makes the most difference apparently. Some of those mods I have included on my bike are GS1000 aluminum rimmed wheels, a slotted Katana rear disc, and I drilled out my front disc. I looked into putting an aluminum swingarm from a larger GS on, but it would have required modification of my frame, which I really don't want to do. [-X It would have also made the wheelbase longer, therefore not as "flickable", as if a '78 GS750 could EVER be called that! I don't know how much difference it has made because I, too am a porker. Last time I stepped on a scale I was about 260lbs.
