oil cooler 750?

was tosing around the idea of putting a oil cooler on my 77 gs 750 for longevity and to prevent overheating... is there a kit out there or can you put 1 off a 1000 on in place of the oil pressure sensor and still use the factory pressure switch ? or is the oil cooler idea over kill for the 750 block?

These early GS engines didn't need oil coolers thirty years ago, in the tropics, or the deserts, anywhere. With so much cooling fin area the oil just doesn't get that hot. Oil is much better now. An oil cooler is an oil leak waiting to happen.

im good just was wondering if the oil system was under engineered in 1977 cause i see them on newer models witch like you say don't have cooling fins

The 77-79 750 was an over-engineered, damn near bullet proof motor. It uses a low pressure high volume oiling system lubricating a roller bearing crank (very expensive to produce and highly durable). New model bikes are water cooled (many are any way) and don't require the cooling fins of air cooled bikes.
