82 GS1100G missing at high speed
I have a GS1100G that seems to have a on-again-off-again miss at any speed above 3500rpm's. It has a Dyna S ignition and K&N pod filters. I have changed the coils, thinking either one or both were bad. I still have the issue. The bike is an 82 and also has a Vance&Hines 4 into 1 header. Any suggestions as to where I may locate the problem would be greatly appreciated.Tags: None

Blowerbike is right. Although I haven't done it yet, there are tons of threads on here about needing to rejet your carbs when you go to pods and aftermarket pipes. You'll want to look into getting a Dynojet kit (what most recommend) AFTER you properly clean and rebuild your carbs (this gives you the time to look at what size jets you currently have) as well as all the other maintenance you'll need to do.

Nope, I didn't re-jet. In fact I bought the bike as it sets. It almost seems like two cylinders shut down totally at cruising speed. This is my first metric bike, and I'm finding it to be rather touchy compared to a big twin Harley. But, lets face it, performance on a Harley is pretty much narrowed down to whether you can ride it more than a couple hours before it breaks down. I appreciate the reply, and advice.
