My landlord is a little guy around 5'3 or so and is interested in getting a 90 GS 500F off a buddy of his but the bike sits too high for his short legs. He was asking if they make a aftermarket lowering kit for it. Also, I was thinking that if its lowered would it need anything such as a smaller rear rim or maybe a lower prfile tire on the back. Ive never had to lower a bike for myself, so thats why all the questions.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it. -
1990, or 2009? Either way I'm pretty sure you can just use a set of "Lowering Links". Or make a set if your handy with the steel and fire tools. Search google for GS500 lowering links and you'll see what I mean.
