On the clutch thing, I should perhaps add that I have gone through two clutch basket assemblies. The original got the dreaded death ratlle from loose rivets and springs. I had it strengthened and riveted, that lasted a few months. Got it done again, that is what I have now.....I think the 1085 stage 3 motor stressed the clutch a little, so any weknesses show themselves quickly, and hopefully it lasts otherwise!

great job jake , My best was 6.84 at 107.92 but that was geared for the 1/4 not the 1/8 and I had that tiny 130 stock tire and stock street chassie. Next week you will blow by my 6.84 but my 107.92 may be safe for a little while. seat time is everthing when you are workin the 60 ft times down. if you are still spinning the tire you may try less air or some VHT traction compound. dont be afraid to slip you clutch untill you get that big slick then the fun begins

Thanks Skip for the encouragement

With the old swingarm the bike would wheelie off the line if i was too aggressive with throttle and right past the tree if I cranked on full throttle, the front end is strap down too. Even 2nd to 3rd gear shift I'd feel a little front wheel wobble. With this longer swingarm I don't fill the front end coming up and the ride was nice and smooth between shifts. So I hoping to get on the gas alot harder now.

I just heard from the guy I was going to buy his stage II head that he thrown a rod out his S/C bike on Sat and has alot of damage. Looks like he going to need it after all to get his other bike up and running.

I'm thinking of using the GSXR 750 or 1100 oil cooled head. From what I hear they flow just as good as a ported GS head and might be cheaper.

As soon as I can find somebody with a digtal camera I'll post it

              Lecroy,
I got away with a plastic oil bottle for a while. Just thought it was ugly. I've only ever raced my local tracks. Thompson, 42, Quaker, and Norwalk. In the three years I've been doing it I've never gone any further.

Yea, the pop bottles don't look very nice but they are lite and cheap.
I have never been over that way for racing. Looks like you have a few nice places to ride at. Good luck getting into the nines this year.

Can you run a hose from the breather on top of the engine to the exhaust pipe just like the cars do.

I don't see why not, the only down side is that it may make your bike smell like it's burning oil. I doubt it would be enough to smell though. As a bonus, your exhaust probably wouldn't rust.

I attemped it three times , maybe four. I tried to spray second gear and three of the four times I tried it either spun the tire or snap wheelied resulting in a blown run. the fourth time it stuck and i ran 113 mph in the 1/8 but it came off of a rotten 60 ft time which was 1.87 so the 1/8 et was not my best, I think it was 6.98 if i recall in the eigth but the 1/ 4 was pretty good 10.10 @ 146 somthing. again not my best but not bad. the best run I had i sprayed third fouth and fith an im not sure how much of it was sprayed in the 1/8 but the run was a 9.97 @149

                        From ProStar:
Catch cans are mandatory on all motorcycles that do not utilize
a stock crankcase breather routing to the air box. Engines
with breather hose plumbed into a vacuum pump system also
require a catch can for catastrophic failure.
