I have 2 81 GS1100E's and the blue is stock other than the pipe, the Red has a 1188 or so piston kit, ported, cams, welded crank, clutch, tranny is cut and every last ounce of weight has been removed.
Snapping the throttle at 5K in second will stand it up, in 3rd doing the same thing with a tug on the bars it will do the same.
Blue bike, not a chance!!
As much as power is fun look at weight, it plays a bigger role than you may think. My blue bike is close to 75 heavier than the Red.

had a blue/white 1150E with a carpenter built 1198...
stock wheel base and gearing and a heavy dog that only had engine work.
rolling it open in 2nd would produce a smooth and increasing wheel stand starting at 7k on the tach.
by the time 11 grand came along it would be near 100% vertical.
strange animal it was...kinda like a 2 stroke coming on the pipe.
sold it to a friend thats around 150-160lbs...a dirt bike guy...
he ran a 10.23@139..a real handful.
the newbie busa guys was getting there a$$es whooped on this day.
