Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

0v = no damping, 6.5v = max damping. anything over 6.5v has no further effect1978 GS1085.

So how would you propose setting it up? With an ECM so you can pickup speed and vary the damping with speed or the simplest is to put a switch on the handlebars to just switch it on when needed.
The easiest way to detect speed might be with a hot wire anemometer to sense air flow.
Something like this

You need to find the right parts based on the damper coil resistance. Mine is about 12 ohms. You need a discrete resistor and an adjustable pot both about 12 ohms to match the coil in the damper. If you can't find these you can do it with an op amp and any pot but more resistors.
this is small and unobtrusive

The Honda HESD one is also 6.5v with no benefit being felt above this.
Was quite high in current draw from the research I did. There is a parts list on the link I posted.
You need a voltage regulator that can handle about 1.5amps from memory.
Parts are about 20 quid out here in the US. I don't see why the same bunch of bits wouldn't work for the GSXR one too.

a.) to get a ergonomically pleasing knob adjust you can't find a 10 ohm pot.
b.) a simple op amp wont work because of the almost 1 amp of current required.
Using the simple schematic I provided will likely work, you will just have to adjust it with a screw driver occasionally till you get it where you want it.

I have one of these Honda dampers. $12 shipped if anyone wants it. Never got around to messing with it, just sat on the shelf.
