    1100 swingarm on a 1000 ??

I've tried a search, and I'm still a bit unclear. I've got a '78 GS1000C and I'm considering an aluminum swingarm. Is this a direct bolt-in swap? I definitely want to keep my spoked wheels. Can I use my wheel and axle on the 1100 swingarm? Do I need to use extra bushings on the axle, and if so, does anyone know the sizes?

the GS1100 swing arm is a direct bolt on to the GS frame, including pivot bolts.
i have never had spoked wheels but i guess the wheel would bolt straight in as well, with no extra spacers or bushes, as a normal cast wheel will bolt straight in.

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

Thanks for the quick response. As long as the inside width of both swingarms is the same, my wheel and spacers should slide right in then?

          100% sure.

The only thing you may have to do is bend out the frame where the rear foot pegs mount as the 1100 swinger is a little wider at this point. On some frames you need to do this and some you don't. Otherwise it's plug and play.

You'll see what you have to bend. It is obvious. Easy mod. Polish & paint that nice swinger up! I did the same to my 78 1000C.
