Copper head gasket & fire rings

Does anybody used fire rings with copper head gasket?
I made fire rings (id 82mm, od 90mm) from 0.05mm steel foil and going to test them with copper head gasket in my 1360 cc EFE.
I know it´s more common to use piano wire o-rings, but there are no o-ring grooves machined in the cylinder block.

I'm curious how it works out.

My turbo bike has the piano wire rings in the cylinder block - and so far, these have held up without issue. I do still get the slight oil weeping issues, but that's fairly normal with a copper head gasket.
