Fuel Induction System Anybody Tried It?
http://www.thunderproducts.com/dial_a_jet.htm I seen this product the other day and wondered if any one has tried it, or would even consider trying it, and if they have what kind of results did you receive. I have seen Dial-a-Jet in the past but it was for dirt bikes and mounted to the bottom of the carb and was just a variable main jet, this is different. Maybe a little methanol or nitro as a power additive.sigpic 82 gs1100ez 1168 Wiseco,Web .348 Cams,Falicon Sprockets,Star Racing Ported Head,1mm o/s Stainless Valves,APE Springs,Bronze Guides, etc.APE Billet Tensioner,36CV Carbs,Stage 3 Dynojet,Plenum w/K&N filter,Trued,Welded,Balanced,Crank w/Katana rods & Billet left end, FBG backcut trans, VHR HD Clutch basket,APE nut,VHR High volume oil pump gears,1150 Oil cooler,V&H Megaphone header w/Competition baffle,Dyna S,Coils,Wires, etc.Other misc.mods.Tags: None

Looks like a simplified throttle-body injection kit, or TBI.
Sounds legitimate, and especially the (obviously 20 odd year old but still valid) magazine review.
The theory seems sound, its just a matter of how much time and money youre willing to spend I guess.

Just read through the website, I'm more interested in the tach they offer, seems really simple fix for our somewhat old tachs we can't fix any longer. For $38 I'm thinking of getting one.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002

Very interesting product, the notion that you can have a complete cycle by cycle closed loop afr control is pretty cool. The claim is that this even better than EFI because much of EFI open loop tuning. It certainly seems to be a worth while consideration considering the cost of most carburation options.
How much easier would this make pod and pipe conversions? Sounds like you just need to get to a lean condition so it has some room to work.

This lists the prices for various Suzuki's loks like the
80-82 GS 750 E DJ-103 239.95
80-83 GS 1100 ES DJ-103 239.95
84-86 GS 1150 E ES DJ-103 239.95
DJ-103 4 stroke Dial-A-Jet for Motorcycles $239.95
ALL off road vehicles must use the Snorkel kit to qualify for warranty.
This might eliminate the need for a jet kit or at least limit the need to a main jet change when doing pods and a pipe.
It would be interesting to see AFR info before and after.

I seen these little do-dads for round slide VM Mikunis that looked like they should work also. http://www.thunderproducts.com/u_f_o.htm Called the Ultimate Flow Optimizer. And I totally agree with an AFR meter or even without one dialing in and tuning pods should be a snap since the lean condition already exists combined with a pipe could see some serious h.p. increases and without any flat spots hopefully.sigpic 82 gs1100ez 1168 Wiseco,Web .348 Cams,Falicon Sprockets,Star Racing Ported Head,1mm o/s Stainless Valves,APE Springs,Bronze Guides, etc.APE Billet Tensioner,36CV Carbs,Stage 3 Dynojet,Plenum w/K&N filter,Trued,Welded,Balanced,Crank w/Katana rods & Billet left end, FBG backcut trans, VHR HD Clutch basket,APE nut,VHR High volume oil pump gears,1150 Oil cooler,V&H Megaphone header w/Competition baffle,Dyna S,Coils,Wires, etc.Other misc.mods.

These things were around in the early 80's but didn't get good reviews back then. If it was that easy then everyone would have used them. Personally I would put them in the electric turbocharger category. Willing to be proven wrong though.

I remember people using them on sleds and liking them. Then FI sleds became the rage n havent heard of them since really.
