    GS1000 Shaft question

There's a GS1000 engine on Ebay right now, but it is the shaft drive model. Is there a way to convert it to chain drive, like, is the transmission output shaft the same, and a sprocket could be put on it after removing the shaft appendages? Thanks.

Hope, the cases's are different too with a drive yoke coming out of the rear of the engine.

Forget it. Look elsewhere. It isn't worth the time, money, and effort.

Yes, I will have to keep looking. I don't really want to do anything until after this season is over, the bike is running very consistant right now.
