VERY nice,..on the 1150/1100 head, Someone needs to tell him he will have to use an electric tach if he goes with the 1150 head on the 1100 . Just wanted to throw that out there.

I have to ask why such a big head and pistons to run top gas (8.20) index? When 1425cc and 29.5/24 is all you need to go high 7's at 168 mph. I hope that et and mph are what your hoping for with the throttle stop on it.
31/28 valves sounds like your building a NO2 head.

I disagree with you on this
The 1150 head is miles away from the 1100 head in the size of the intake portMy stable

Actually, it isn't. The 1150 intake port is only a little bigger. I only have about 20 or so of each. I've had just about every Suzuki head on my bench & the 1150 ports are a LITTLE better, not a lot. I also build my motors big & overkill & then run them easy so they live. I'm not running pro stock so don't need or want a bunch of rpm. Ray.Last edited by rapidray; 08-26-2013, 11:04 PM.

1150 N/A head 29.5/24 valves 420/380 lift cams cams 1425cc 13.5 to 1 compression car tire chassis shifting at 10,700 rpm runs 7.87 @ 168mph with a 1.17 sixty footer. I don't think that is winding it up to far.
The people I build motors and port heads for are usually on a tight budget and don't have extra money to throw at me to way over build for the times they want to run. Nor could I do that to someone just to make more money and still sleep at night. But I can say that every head I have ported has gone quicker and faster than they were hoping for
I have a bunch of heads in my garage also.Last edited by stetracer; 08-27-2013, 05:03 PM.My stable

I don't do anything just to make more money from anyone so where does your comment come from? I build stuff that will LIVE first of all & will run quicker than what they are expecting. Do you have a problem with that? I ask because I have NO idea who you even are & wonder where the comment you ADDED to your post came from. Ray.

I made that comment because you told the op that he would be better off paying you more money to do more expensive work to his own 1100 head instead of starting with a better platform of the 1150 head that to me tells me that you don't care about any body's wallet but your own. The motor build you bragged about 8.20 @168mph. I would be ****ed off if you built a motor that extensive for me. and it only went 168mph. As far as not knowing you I have read a lot and I do mean a lot of your post and know you quite well now. It is me you know nothing about.
Now tell us what rpm are you going to shift at to slow the bike down to 8'20's?
Did the customer tell you to build the motor that extensive but slow it down to 8.20 index or did you suggest it because he had deep pocket?
The fact that you got all defensive about this tells me that you try to up sell your work or you would have said something like. I know it is over kill but I am doing what the customer wanted even after I told him he could achieve the same results with a lesser build and save some money and then my next comment would have been an apology and I would have said to you you have to do what the customer wants. Not huff and puff around like a 10 year old. This is a discussion right?Last edited by stetracer; 08-27-2013, 06:59 PM.My stable

And I never bragged about anything. I just put up some pictures of a head I am building. Where did you get bragging from that? Also, telling someone they can get plenty of power from an 1100 head is SAVING them the cost of looking for & buying an 1150 head. Lastly, Mark, isn't that your name, for the power level he is asking about, he doesn't need to use an 1150 head so it costs him less. Ray.Last edited by rapidray; 08-27-2013, 08:28 PM.

The difference between you and me is I know a lot but I always like to learn more and am willing to admit when I am wrong and you seem to think you know it all
So tell us what rpm do you plan on shifting your 1640cc motor at?
Just answer that one question
