    GS making a few passes

This was some video my wife took when I took the old GS to the track a few weeks ago. It was the slowest bike there. Even the HDs would out run it. The bike is stock except for a pipe, jetting and K&N pods. The crank on this one is virgin (unwelded) and it's on it's second transmission.

    Fastest 1/4 114.5 MPH
    Quickest 1/4 11.885

    Fastest 1/8 94.34 MPH
    Quickest 1/8 7.565

7.56 is not a bad number at all. You did say the bike has been off the track for awhile. Are you running the stock 15t upfront if not try a 14t next time and I'll bet you get down to 7.20. I just love old iron or should I say old aluminum.

Just watched your video and your bike sounds great, did you removed the baffles from your exhaust and your full throttle shifts sound good too. If you had bars you'll would of took that HD. As for that blue bike you held your ground pretty good. Not to bad at all. That GS sure want's to run.

PS Nice wheelie too and how about an air shifter??

I was hand clutching the bike with no air shift. This thing even has a stock basket to go with the un-welded crank. Both the front and back gears are stock. It has an OEM 'O' ring chain. The 1pc ones (no master link). I shutter to thing of how many passes I have made with this bike over the years. Almost a sin to treat it this way! Your right Jake, I opened the pipe. The bike is jetted to run this way. With the butt plug, the engine will not react. I had the tire pressure down around 20 PSI when the bike started to react. Notice the red came on when the front end came up.

I'm sure I could do a few things to bring the old GS times down, but I like it stock.

Those times are what the gun drag testers were doing whne the GS first came out. Not at all shabby!
