How much does an 1150 engine weigh?

I picked up my 1100 engine by myself and I'm guessing it weighed 140lbs?
Less than a full keg, more than my wife.

My real question is how much would it be to ship one 3,000 miles

The 16 valve, 1100/1150 engines are just over 250 pounds. Ray.

My wife is 125, and I thought a keg was 160lbs.

I did dead lift this my 1100 motor a couple times in 2005 when I built it, but I don't remember it being that heavy. I might have been a little stronger in my 30's

250 pounds! dang. Is that bare motor or in a crate and on a pallet?

I figured you builder guys would know because I'm sure you ship them all the time.

Yeah it's right around 250 dry weight. Had 1150 motor shipped from texas.

I've shrugged around a few 1100/1150 engines. Walked an 83 1100 engine out of a guys basement up a flight of ~10 stairs. (seller had a bad back and couldnt help!). Not fun.

And yes a half barrel ie your standard US 15.5 gal keg is right around 160#.

Lugged around a few of those back too back in the college days... Now I'm just glad I'm a chef and not a bartender

The last 1150/1229 motor I built & shipped to Maryland was 298 crated, ready to ship. Cost 320 through Yellow Freight from Orange, Ca. to Maryland. Ray.
