Bandit rear swap about to start, pounters?
Hey all, scored a 1200 bandit swinger and wheel for cheap. Parts ordered from katman for swap. Anyone doen this and have some finished product photos? Rear master cylinder mod? What little stuff might i run into? This will be my first frame/suspension mod. I have built motors, just never messed with the chassis. I would like to swap front end also, not sure with what yet though, probably bandit also. ThanksTags: None

Thats what im trying to figure out. I would rather everything be lined up. Can the rear master be relocated? Just some basic measurements shows the rear pivot area is going to be tight. Thats why i was hpoing for some close up pics.

Are you planning on switching to mono shock?
My GS1150 was already mono shock but when I did the switch to the Bandit rear I updated the suspension so I had to relocate the shock mounts. I used the entire rear end . the swingarm, wheel, brakes, shock and linkage. dropped a lot of weight over the heavy old gs1150 suspension. I installed the wheel and proper spacers for the Bandit set up then I centered the wheel in the frame installing spacers where I needed the on the swingarm pivot bolt to get it where I wanted it. when I went to a line the chain I used a 1/4'' off set countershaft sprocket did the trick. The brakes was a piece of cake just hooked the brake line right up to my GS master cylinder the caliper hangs under the swingarm just as it would on the Bandit.
The bandit 530 sprockets are the same as the GS1100/1150 sprockets bolt pattern. In a 530 setup 17T c/s and a 48T rear sprockets put a GS1100/1150 at or very close to factory gearingLast edited by stetracer; 11-03-2013, 09:54 AM.My stable

Here is mine, the 93-95 GSXR 1100 front end is adequate for addressing clearance at the exhaust collector however there are several other options. The bandit swingarm will need to be fabbed with shock mounts for starters along with new reducer bushings installed at the swing pivot and a new rear spacer to accommodate the gs hub width. The front sprocket must be offset also to properly align the rear wheel. There is much more to do beyond this but these are your starting points.
