        Cams are the same

Edit: google search out APE GS Zone as well. Owner is a member here and knows his $hit.

If I remember wright the GS1000, GS850 and GS750 cams all swop with each other, you just need to use your owen cam sprockets. The old mod for the GS750 was to put the 850 top end on, just for info

Hope you are not including the head with that swap, because both engines shared the same part.

Stock 750 cams are hotter than the 850/1000 cams for the top end. Less efficient though. Wider valve opening timing. 1000 cams use a little more lift, less valve duration. I wonder if 8V GS1100G cams swap? Same head gasket & stud pattern as 850/1000

No just the cams as posts afterwords. the GS850 head and barrels will go on the 750, but the GS1000 head and barrels will not go on the 850 or 750 over here in the UK in the old days lots of people put the GS850 top end on the GS750 for a tuning mod.

You keep saying "people put the GS850 top end on the GS750", and my point is the early GS750 and GS850 share the same head, so swapping the "top end", which includes the head, is ridiculous.
