77 GS 750B spoke to mag swap

Hello GS ers I've been rebuilding my 77 for two years now and I'm finally getting to the wheels. My original rear spoke rim was bent so I bought some 78 powdercoated mags. However the disks are about 1/2 in smaller from center to end. Can I still use them?

From center to end, in which direction? You mean smaller diameter or less offset? Something is funny, I've done this same swap before.

I'm guessing you have a 2 disc rotor on it as the single disc rotor is both wider and has a bigger diameter. The good news is the single disc rotor is a bolt on.

Even better news is there are several easy bolt on brake upgrades you can choose from.

Turns out the rotor offset is the same for both sets of rotors. I'm able to use my 77 rotors with the 78 mags. I end up with 3 extra rotors I can sell. Thanks guys for the comments the powdercoated mags look great. I also have an excellent front spoke rim to sell. Looks like I might break even.

Nobody ever really buys the non slotted discs.
