1150 Sloppy throttle cable overnight fix?

Bought a new throttle cable, but this is a non stock application(gsxr cable to gsxr carbs to stock 83 1100 throttle housing). It's been over 10 years since I replaced it. Got about a 1/4 inch of slop, with throttle grip side adjusted more than half way out. The carb side has 1/3" +/- room to adjust, but not sure if that'll be enough.

I recall Posplayer doing something on the throttle grip, for quarter turn throttle, wondering if I could theoretically add something to the throttle grip housing slot to take up slack. I remember a friend soldering the end a bit shorter, but thought maybe I could figure out another way. Don't trust my soldering skills. I need to figure this out before 2 pm tomorrow PST or just use my old one, but it's on its last leg. Thanks for any suggestions or advice

      Pos, yes that's it. Thanks.

Think by putting the pvc in will take up a 1/4" of slack?

Well, thought I had 1" PVC, but 3/4" was it in the garage, probably for fork spring spacer material.

Anyhow, ended up using the other slot in the throttle grip housing, forgot about that slot. Seemed to work, and the throttle twist to wot seems shorter than before. No slop with a smudge of free play. Hope it's enough.
