    Digital tachometer

I want to install a digital tachometer to match my digital speedometer, but i'm confused on what i need. Do I need a single fire coil adapter? If so what one?

I've connected electronic tachometers from GSXR 1100s.
Besides the ground and +12V you connect the third wire to the switched side of one of the ignition coils.
The same should work for a digital tachometer.
    Works like a charm

But will it then only read out as 1/2 the rpm since only one coil is connected to tach?

You should be fine. Most digital tachs you can select the pulses per revolution as well our bikes have wasted spark so each coil fires once per revolution.
