GS1000 Crank - Is this normal?

Is this normal for a crank? Seems to be some kind of balancing but there is also something that has pushed through behind the magneto/rotor if you look closely... assuming that's not normal!

Is the crank junk or just the rotor (it's magnet is breaking up inside).

the rear section contains the sprag clutch for your starter contains 3 rollers 3 springs and sleeves
you need get a flywheel pullers and remove the alternator from crank so you can see whats gone wrong it appears a roller might have exited the scene

the plungers sling/get shoved outwards by the roller and open's a hole or make dents in the SC housing.
time to remove and replace and maybe monitor your riding habits so this does not happen again.

Crank should be fine. Rotor is probably junk - but even that has value as I remove the rotor from the hub for race applications where you don't need the alternator but want to retain electric start.
If you're parting the whole lot out, I'd take it but of course freight rules that out.....GS1000 large parts - cases and cranks - are thin on the ground here in NZ.

You'd be welcome to it too... yes freight is a real pain!
