Need some advice if anyone can help. I'm doing a light conversion to a Cafe Racer. Does anyone know what tank will fit (using the rear mounts) that is a smooth sided tank with no cut outs to accept the side plastic panels?

Also , any suggestions for a cafe seat?

    Thanks...probably more questions to follow

No other tank will fit, without modifying the tank, the frame, or both.

You will have to fabricate it yourself if you want something other than the stock pan.

The bike you're talking about is probably one of the worst GSes to "Café" because no body parts from any other model will fit it. Furthermore, it has an electronic tach that was shared by only two other GS models, so your choices on gauges are going to be customized creations of your own if you want to go for a "minimalist" look. Mmaybe some early GSXR gauges will work fairly easily, but that's probably going to be about it.

Have you ever "caféd" a motorcycle before? If so, I'd like to see one of your creations.
