I only use the black ties when it's a formal job
1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head
1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

For the record: Ray just did a bunch of major work for me and his prices/communication were great the entire time... Check the projects/rebuilds section for my GS1000 restoration thread.

On the surface, the work looks great - I will give the final report once the engine is back together and running!

                Cheers, Ray

Welcome back Bruce... I'm glad at least someone can trigger a response from you!

I'm very surprised to see you comment on a thread related to people upholding their end of a deal on this forum... Not one of your strongest subjects in my unfortunate experience!

I just got my 80 1100 head back form APE. I originally sent the head to a shop that "specialized" in GS heads. After spending way to much money I learned from APE that the valves were slightly bent and needed grinding. I also had to have it resurfaced due to a low spot between cylinder 2 and 3. Long story short APE has the most affordable prices and they do the best work. Not to mention their customer service is A+. I also had them build a GSXR 1100 head that I am very happy with.
                      (Ignore the missing hardware)

Could I have their contact info?

PS Back in my day, head shops sold black lights, day-glo posters, Indian bidis, bongs, pipes, rolling papers, incense and Zap comics. Am I leaving anything out?
