No vacumm pump (how to find that leak)

One of the old bikes (not the HD) developed an oil leak. I looked for it a few times with no luck. You know how that oil goes everywhere. I was thinking to just pull the motor and look for it, but what a pain for such a small leak.

So to find it I took off the crank vent tube. I then cut up an old inner tube for it's valve stem and fitted it to some half inch tubing that I attached to the crank vent. I started out just using a hand pump and listening for the leak. I could hear the air coming from the top of the motor, but could not find the exact spot. So I set my compressor for a very low pressure and hooked it up. I then sprayed down the motor with dish soap and water (just like finding your old tire leaks). Sure enough, there was the leak. One of the O rings in the front of the head had failed. Simple change out and the leak is gone. I had never heard of anyone trying this trick so I figured I would post it.

Thats the coolest trick I've ever heard of...... =D>

If you fill your engine with helium, how much weight do you lose?

Not much but if you do it on an HD it makes it sound like a farting hamster!
