    Using 78 GS750 Cams in 79 GS1000 engine

Forgive the new post guys. Having a hard time finding the info on this. I vaguely remember reading that the early 750 cams had a little more "attitude" than the 1000 cams and could be swapped into the 1000. By attitude I mean lift and/or duration. Can anyone confirm this? I'm thinking about buying a 1000 engine and would like to know if I should hang on to my 750 cams since my spare engine is in pieces ready to get parted out.
    Thanks

If you look in the factory service manuals (free download available from basscliff's website) you will see the 750 cams have a little extra duration. I think the lift is a little lower though. Overall I don't think will gain enough to notice.

Cool, Thanks Ed. Looks like this swap isn't really worth my time.
