    GS750 starter clutch on GS1000?

Hi all, I'm thinking of putting a GS750 (2V head) starter clutch and genny onto my GS1000 (2V head, tuned motor, 1100cc kit). I've used a GS850 one before with no probs & the GS750 side cover fits the GS1000, but the 750 genny and rotor/starter clutch are smaller. So, the Q. is: will the GS750 starter clutch be strong enough to turn over the GS1000 motor without just spinning the starter clutch? Any help thanks. PS why you may say, it's becouse I have a 750 side cover and starter clutch and it's lighter than the 1000 one and I have not got a GS1000 side cover etc, yes I can get one but if the 750 will do the job it would be nice to have a bit more waight loss on the bike. Last time I tuck the bike for the MOT the waight of the bike was riding 92kg front and 94kg rear. (just for interrest)
