Re- jetting
Hey guys I want to add pod filters to my bike And wrap my exhausts. I've heard that I will have to rejet my carbs for both these mods. How do I know what are the right jets? And where do I get them, what are all the things I need to look out for while doing this.Tags: None

Simplest way would be to purchase a dynojet kit for you specific make and model. It takes a little trial and error when tuning but you will have a good starting point with a jet kit.

I have the stage III jet kit in my bike.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

The "right jets" can not be suggested, and WILL not be suggested because we have NO IDEA what bike you are talking about, therefore we have no idea what the stock jets are. Until then the only thing we can offer is that typically, the main jets need to be increased about 4 to 6 sizes for pods. Like Rob S., though, I don't see why you would have to make any adjustment for wrapped pipes, as long as they are stock. if you cut the mufflers off, all bets are off.
Before you cut the mufflers (if they are still there) and wrap the pipes, what condition are they in? If they are in good shape, maybe someone will be interested in trading. Many of us would appreciate a good-looking set of stock pipes and would be upset if you were to mess them up by wrapping them. A not-so-good-looking set of pipes might actually be enhanced cosmetically by wrapping, though.

I installed a kit from six sigma. You tell them all your mods, and they send you everything you need with very detailed instructions. I have pods, 4-1 header with open megaphone. They're kit was spot on and they offer technical assistance. Very affordable also

I do believe you are the first one to report an easy, painless experience with them.
Either somebody goofed at Six Sigma and actually gave you good service or you are the owner of the company.

I think it probably makes more difference on some vehicles that others, no idea how much on an unknown bike of unknown size and shape.
