    Rear Wheel Drag Bike

With 18 inch slicks getting rarer i wanted to swap out to a nice 17 inch, a RC wheel would be nice as thats what I have now, What are you guys using for a rear wheel ZX-10 or GSXR or???? Thanx Moneys tight as usual but,,,need to get shinkos for the track they seem to work very well. As well as decent prices. Thanx Guys Mike

I have no problem getting Mickey Thompson 18 inch slicks. I can get them in 5.5 or 7 inch, either one, all day long. Good tires too. Minimal burnout required & long life.

agreed - 18" slicks are in stock in my region too - retail price is hard to beat unless you buy a lot. FYI I have 2 available -- 140 for 1 that has 4 passes taken off of it and the other is new -180 on my trailer available for sale when I am at the track. --if you want to buy both of mine - with shipping you will still be under retail - M/T are the best as far as small tire M/C slicks.

however! it is well known the 17"- 7" slick has more sidewall and is a better working tire - true - BUT , if the original frame design was set up for a 18" wheel and built very close to the 2" ground clearance rule, you might have an issue.

GSXR after 92 are cheap and wide enough - get the brakes too.

If your going to switch to a 17" wheel on a budget then I would use the 05 and newer GSXR1000 wheels as they are some of the lightest factory wheels made and is 6" wide.

Thats a good price for the Micky. But no worries for clearance issue on switching to 17" as the 17" slicks both Micky and Shinko are 26" tall and the 18" slicks are 25" tall so you would gain 1/2" extra clearance.
