GS550L Cam swap. HELLLLP!!!!!!!
I am 16 and just bought my first motorcycle back in July. A 1982 Gs550l! It's great ,but its bone stock and I'm lookin for a way to give it a little more power. Are there any cam manufacturers out there? Any other advice on power upgrades, tips ,or tricks? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. -
Yup, your first bike at 16 and you already want more power.
Learn to ride this one well, you will be surprised what it will do.
Motorcycle riding is not all about power, it's more about controlling what you have.
If you are really intent on keeping this bike and making it more powerful, look for a set of pistons and cylinders from a 650 and swap them in.

Thanks Steve and blowerbike for the help! I'm wanting to eventually build a bigger engine with a kick start to put in my bike and make a bobber or cafe racer.

Well, the biggest engine with a kicker and chain drive would be a 750, but it won't fit in that frame.
The engine will also have to be from a '79 or older bike, as they all lost the kick starter with the '80 model year.
